Abdul El-Sayed to black voters: I am not like your “gas station Abdul” who hates blacks, catcalls women.
I never thought I would feel bad for Abdul El-Sayed, but after watching the linked clip, I actually do. I also feel terrible for gas station Muslims. And for the black people this electoral pitch is supposed to please.
The way Democrat politicians believe they need to pander to African Americans is embarrassing. Everything for them is about pitching different identity groups against each other. El-Sayed has to proffer a string of the most bizarre and insulting stereotypes about one group in order to pander to a string of bizarre and insulting stereotypes about another group.
Gas station Muslims “leave a terrible taste in your mouth”? Who even speaks like that? Even more disgusting is the suggestion that gas station owners put up bulletproof glass because they’re racist and not because they simply want to survive.
