My favorite clothing store decided to decorate the entire front with breast cancer campaign paraphernalia. It now looks like somebody barfed breast cancer ribbons all over it.
The irony of the situation is that I went to the store specifically to not think about my mother’s breast cancer which eventually turned out to be endometrial and we all know what happened then. I was purposefully seeking distraction in mindless browsing of clothing items. That distraction was cruelly denied me at the store.
I have no idea why people do this. How is it helpful to stick those pink ribbons in people’s faces? It’s not like anybody is likely to forget about cancer. We all wish we could forget about it. We do all sorts of unnecessary things, like stalk around clothing stores, in order to forget.
Made me grumpy.
