Another Biden Gaffe

I understand that Biden is old but this is still annoying:

For those who can’t watch: Biden says “the President of Ukraine… Mr Putin.” After which, Zelensky kindly and good-naturedly says “I’m better.”

Yes, anybody can misspeak but when you can’t string 5 sentences along without misspeaking, it gets annoying.

The Wrong Fatherhood

Vynnychenko’s own relationship with fatherhood was complicated and tragic. He always believed that fatherhood is sacred and that you need to prepare to be a father your whole life. He thought it’s crucial to meet THE woman, the only love of your life forever and ever, and prepare for parenthood together, as a the most sacred role you will ever have.

He was also a mega talented, darkly attractive, and very charismatic dude. And a literary star. And a high-achieving, self-made man with an original system of thought and a capacity to speak beautifully on any subject. Women threw themselves at him like nobody’s business.

When one of these casual women came up pregnant, Vynnychenko was devastated. She was crazy in love and wanted to tie him to herself, which he somehow hadn’t anticipated. This was 1911 but I’m honestly not finding much difference in how people conducted their sex lives from now. We’ve kind of allowed ourselves to believe that we’ve been massively sexually liberated from some horrid repression because this makes us feel more accepting of other things that are happening. But that’s pretty much in our heads.

In any case, Vynnychenko finally has his long-awaited child. Words can’t describe how much he’d wanted to be a father and how seriously he took it. But he didn’t want to share his fatherhood with an unloved woman! She didn’t even understand his parenting philosophy! Or the need for a parenting philosophy, period. He tried to get her to give the child to him and go away but we can all imagine how that suggestion went over. There was a huge drama, constant bickering, endless “how could you do this to me?”

The child died at the age of 3 months. I don’t know the cause but there’s reason to suspect some neglect from both parents who were neck-deep in the drama of who loved whom and who didn’t.

Vynnychenko was devastated but at the same time he knew he was free to resume the search for the once-in-a-lifetime woman of his dreams and the perfect mother for his future “real” children.

And he found her. Rosalia Lifshitz, the woman he’d been waiting for. They lived in deep love and complete loyalty for the rest of their lives. Finally, it was time to have children. Vynnychenko and his wife talked about every aspect of their future parenthood, discussed scenarios, possibilities, how best to educate, when and how to teach every skill and bit of knowledge. They were both crazy eager to have kids.

But all of the planning and strategizing was for nought. Rosalia’s only pregnancy was ectopic. They never had children. Vynnychenko’s life dream was denied to him. He hadn’t appreciated the child that had been given to him because the circumstances were imperfect and whatnot. This is the kind of mistakes that life rarely forgives. Vynnychenko’s punishment was terrible. Childlessness for somebody who lived to be a father is a personal catastrophe. There’s a lesson in this for all of us. We don’t know how and when we’ll receive what we need. But it’s certain we won’t be able to control it. Let’s not confuse our need to control for what really matters in life.

Der Döner

One of the first German words you learn on Duolingo is der Döner, which means shawarma. I’m not complaining because shawarma is fantastic in Germany. We have none for many miles around where I live, and I feel aggrieved.

In Madrid, we went to a Lebanese restaurant, and I think I almost scared the people working there with my enthusiasm for the food. I strongly believe it’s the best food in the world but I happen to live in one of the few places where you can’t find it.

Danger in the Air

Air travel is being aggressively undermined. Here’s one of the recent examples of where that leads:

One of the pilots was paying attention, so the unqualified and careless air traffic controller failed to produce a collision. But there’s been a worrisome recent increase in such mishaps.

Elites Are Better

We keep hearing how our elites are bad, and yes, they aren’t exactly amazing. But they are better than normies. Normies not only get what they deserve, they get better than what they deserve.

By now journalists and even celebrities have found the courage to say openly that Biden is unwell. Normies are still in complete denial. They are refusing to recognize what they have seen with their own eyes and are aggressively manufacturing fantasies about how the press is pro-Trump (I know, right?) and how celebrities reject Biden because they are “rich white men.” Their pouty, combative faces when you gently tell them, “you saw the debate, didn’t you? You know what you saw?” are sad to observe.

Once again, my observation is completely non-partisan. It’s a very rare human being that can let fresh evidence seep through the overpowering need not to learn anything new. People will mostly just repeat whatever easy platitude they learned first and reject absolutely any evidence no matter how strong.

Quote of the Day

Imagine, you are a mother, you have children. They are little bits of yourself that in a majestically mysterious way continue your life and the life of mankind itself. This is the unbreakable law of existence. All other laws, regulations and expectations can perish. Culture, words, thought itself can fall by. But this law will remain. It will exist for as long as at least one man and one woman inhabit the world. Beware of breaking this law. Many things can be forgiven you but this one will not.

Victim of Anti-racism

I have to be at yet another profoundly humiliating anti-racist trainings in a week. I so don’t want to go that I suffered a bad ankle injury and am now on crutches. First, I got COVID, now I’m a cripple. By the time the anti-racism fad subsides, I’ll cut myself up into ribbons to avoid these struggle sessions.

Evil Spawn

Horrible people do veer towards each other. I don’t want to imagine the amount of evil these two pieces of garbage will do together.

On the positive side, they won’t procreate. On the negative, they might decide to purchase a baby.

COVID Tricks

First, I threw away a bottle of perfume because it stank and I thought it had gone off because of the heat.

Then, I tried my favorite ice cream, and it tasted like sewer. That made me realize it was probably COVID playing tricks on me.

This is a different strain of COVID than before. I haven’t lost taste or smell completely. They are gone selectively, so it’s harder to spot.

Propaganda Campaign

By the way, folks, it’s not just this blog. Everywhere on social media, when you publish anything in English about the Russian bombing of Okhmatdyt, the post immediately gets spammed by bots posing as “pro-Palestinian.” They very clearly and obviously have no interest or knowledge about the Middle East and clearly get paid by the post.

I don’t know why they are trying so hard. The Biden administration already announced that it has zero interest. Nobody cares. We are too white for Western media to give a hoot. And so are you, the person reading it and feeling upset at what I just said.
