Michigan or Nebraska?

I’ve been trying to decide which conference to go to this year for a while but I can’t make the decision. I have a perfect presentation to deliver at both of them. The dates are about 3 weeks apart from each other. I just can’t decide and I can’t waste any more time thinking about this. So I’m requesting your help through voting. Feel free to leave any extra information in the comments. If you know anything especially scary (or especially attractive about either of these places), let me know.

And yes, I routinely select conferences based on their geographical location. It isn’t like I’m going there to socialize or anything like that.

  1. What is the topic of your presentation? Go to Grand Rapids if your presentation is about female authors/women’s perspective, go to Nebraska if the topic is broader. Both organizers are hardworking so the two conferences promise to be stimulating. I have not been to Grand Rapids but I loved Lincoln (Research I). I stayed in a hotel a few blocks from campus. On the other hand, Grand Valley State University is a peer institution.
    Hope this helps!

      1. Yes, it’s the Grand Valley State University Gran Rapids. Is that good?

Depends what you mean by good. Like a previous commenter sed, Nebraska is “Research 1.” Not sure about GVSU, but when I was a high school senior (I’m still only 46, but high school is still a long while ago) they offered me a full ride scholarship for having a high school GPA north of 3.0. For better or for worse, it seemed too easy so I didn’t take them up on the offer.

GVSU has a fantastic golf course, though.
