I read an essay today asserting that the catapult helped ancient people “in their whores with others.”
I suspect they meant “in their wars,” but it’s worth a laugh this way.

I suppose some women are so appalled by men’s behaviour that they do not want to admit to being of the same species as we are. Or maybe only some women are not human in their estimation??

I find that of all kinds of analysis, it is the feminist analysis that my students find the most difficult to comprehend. In a work of art, they don’t see even the most blatant instances of sexism as sexism.
