People who have been to grad school don’t need NaNoWriMo*. We had a NaNoWriMo experience every November and April for years and years.

Depends on what subject you studied in grad school… as a scientist, I’ve produced a few just under 10,000 word (15-page NSF) grant proposals, but until I actually write my thesis, 50,000 words in one document is a little beyond me. (My thesis proposal won’t even be that long)

Well, Nanowrimo is hardly meant to produce academic documents.

Yes, but that was in direct response to Clarissa’s assertation that grad school requires hideous (to me) amounts of writing twice a year… that is academic writing, after all…
