I smiled and winked at a beautiful red-haired child of about 5.
Her parents beamed back at me. And then I realized that if I were a man traveling alone, doing the same thing would make people think I was some sort of a creep.
In general, looking at people and smiling doesn’t have the same connotations as if I were a man.
Speaking of how’s this for odd?

“Mr. Benson then commented that the daughter was wearing a beautiful pink dress. While still holding onto her mother, the little girl raised her dress and said the word ‘panties.’
“This reminded Mr. Benson of his own daughter’s childhood and the many dresses she wore with matching bloomers. Reminiscing, he said, ‘My daughter had panties just like yours,’ and turned to continue his walk. Mr. Benson then used his cell phone to call his brother”
It should not be in a court of injustice and it was not a criminal act, but it was wrong from his part. I would never spit a comment like that, never.

No, most people are simply too dedicated to their prejudices that they practice unthinkingly. I also used to find the idea of a transwoman in a women’s bathroom shocking until I tried to explain to myself why. And then I realized that what was really shocking was my unquestioning acceptance of silly beliefs.

I thought we were talking about trans women. The article is transphobic because it refers to transwomen as “men”. That is very wrong.

At least, they have a penis and they’re not women. So why this kind of “non-woman” should have the right to go to women’s bathroom. Why men are forbidden in women bathrooms?

“B-b-but the MEN are in bathrooms that are for the WOMEN!” And why is this such a mortal sin, exactly?
Stop and think to yourself for a second WHY gender-segregated bathrooms exist. People say it’s to stop men from staring at women while they do their business or whatever, but that’s what private stalls are for. The reason we have gender-segregated bathrooms is the same reason we have gender-segregated clothes and kids toys. We accept them because they’re there and we don’t think to challenge them. When in fact, they’re completely arbitrary and have no real right to exist.
To that end, I’m sorry to say that gender is not a simple binary of men with penises and women with vaginas. It might be easier to believe it is, but life isn’t always so easy. In fact, core gender identity is a complicate psychological algorithm that we are nowhere near close to understanding fully – but we do know it generally sets in by about age three and is very hard to change afterwards. Gender psychology is an unalterable sense of identity, and you were lucky enough to be born in a body that suited yourself. Trans* people were never so lucky, but that doesn’t mean their identity should be dismissed. It’s a lot more complex than that, I’m afraid.

Two things:
A: If suddenly all bathrooms became gender neutral, I think we’d learn to live with it.
B: If a male-bodied person actually wants to officially change their name and go through hormone therapy, I’m going to believe her about being trans and I’m not going to feel threatened by her using the same bathroom as me. That doesn’t sound like something a man would do just to gain access to female-only spaces.

Absolutely, because there’s way more chance that a man could want to rape this child.

Why this fixation on other people’s vaginas? Why the need to classify when nobody asked you to?

“Why the need to classify when nobody asked you to?”
There’s three possible sexes at birth: women (with vaginas), men (with penises) and intersex (with physical characteritics from the other sexes). This is real classifying information.
Gender identity/roles is a patriarchical concept than no feminist should support. I certainly don’t want to class gender identities because I’m against gender.
Trans people embrace gender identity by their own nature because transsexualism is mainly about switching to the other gender identity (i.e. the gender identity that do not correspond to their sex at birth) and they should have the right to do so, but not at the expense of the right for children and women to live peacefully.

I’m self-identify as a red fish, so they should put me in an aquarium. Children should be educated to mutilate themselves and embrace the other gender (coming from the patriarchical gender binary) at a young age. And women should have to tolerate men with dresses jerking off in their women-only bathrooms. This is marvelous to be a non-twansphobic!

It’s not about gender, it’s about sex at birth. But we could have non sex-based bathrooms, I would have no problem at all with this (except the majority of women).
Fight for non sex-based bathrooms, not for the right of humans with penises to jerk off in women-only bathrooms.

No, I accused nobody in particular. But if transwomen with penises have to right to go to women washrooms, many men dressed like women would go to women washrooms, aiming to accomplish their sexuality. Why I should explain that?
Stop calling names and use the “TWANSPHOBIC” tactic when you don’t have an argument, you misogynistic dicktard. Transjacktivists use often this tactic and this is annoying.

At least, Benoni and Djiril adressed the question the right way. So if trans women with penises want to have the right to go to women bathrooms, so travestites and men should have the same right, so sex-based bathrooms should no longer exist, even though I don’t think women would like it, though.
The problem is that transjacktivists support gender, so they want that the only penised humans that should have the right to go to women bathrooms would be the trans sexual women with penises. Why only them, and why not travestites nor men?.
The day when gender indentity will be really challenged, I would have no problem to have non-sexist bathrooms, but right now, gender identity is worshipped by transjacktivists, so since men and travestites are forbidden to go to women bathrooms, trans women with penises should not have this right.

Transphobic creeps like David and Cathy Brennan always pay lip service to how they are “against” or “don’t believe” in gender, and yet get foaming-at-the-mouth angry at the thought of people who exist outside of the existing dominant gender binary demanding to be treated like human beings. Their “gender atheism” is their way of covering up their own insecurity and how deeply entrenched their fixation on upholding gender truly is, while projecting that onto the bodies of trans* and queer people who are just fighting for the right to live peacefully.
