Email Strike

I have a mountain of emails and Facebook messages in need of an urgent answer. But I feel hugely unwilling to take care of them today. Instead, I want to stay in bed with my books, Kindle games, and blog comments.

Dear everybody, please wait until tomorrow. I promise I will start writing back then. Today I’m on an email strike.

  1. My philosophy is this: If it is a text message of any kind, it cannot be urgent. Because if something is really urgent, you pick up the god damned phone. Most of the time ‘urgent emails’ are used to enable the sender to blame someone else for their shitty time management. “Sorry boss, I could not finish in time, Tim did not reply to my urgent e-mail!”. And don’t even think about adding those tiny priority flags to your e-mail, at least not if you want me to not hate you.
