Mental Attitude: Decreasing Depression Symptoms in Adolescents.
Teenage students who received mindfulness training (a form of meditation therapy focused on exercising ‘attentiveness’) in school were almost half as likely to report depression related symptoms than their peers who received no such training. At a six month follow-up, these results held up.

Or they could guzzle some pills and continue doing so for as long as they live. If you can call that life.

As someone who went to counseling for years, and never got any better until I started taking meds… I just can’t understand your worldview on this. I can remember feeling depression as early as six, began cutting myself at 11 (before I’d ever heard of anyone doing that), overdosed at 14, nearly dropped out of grad school at 24 because I couldn’t concentrate or stop crying… and since going on meds (at 24, when I realized counseling alone was not making a difference), I have been able to be myself, fully, at all times, instead of having to constantly struggle with sorrow and tiredness and disconnection.
