The elastic game is called French skipping in English. I used to do it to, and wasn’t very good either. The elastic had to go up the legs if I remember and it got very tricky once above the knee.

We had the most difficult stage of the game when the elastic went as high as the waist. 🙂

We called it Chinese jump rope too! It was good fun.
