Who’s with me in my belief that Obama’s chase after Snowden disgraces both the presidency and the country?
He should just stop chasing after the guy and quit making a fool of himself. The whole world is laughing; this is an embarrassment. Even Putin, that vile cockroach of a person, is having a hoot at Obama’s expense.
Do you remember that time in 2008 when people from many countries cheered and danced in the streets when they heard Obama was elected president? Now they are all jeering in scorn.
Can non-Americans vote on that one? Because I’m definitely with you, but then again so are most non-Americans.

I can’t really imagine any Americans who support the hunt after Snowden. The whole thing has become too bizarre. Is Obama paying his debt to Hollywood in this way by giving them screenplay material? That’s about the only explanation I can find for this v

I think the idea is to make an example out of him to discourage other employees from getting any funny ideas.
I think they’re gonna get him (followed by “suicide” while in custody) but it will mark (another) turning point in the long decline of American international prestige.

The next step is to go after Glen Greenwald for allegedly “aiding and abetting” Snowden as he was accused on Meet the Press by David Gregory. There is a growing official chorus against what is being termed “advocacy journalism” as practiced by Greenwald. Instead of mass media let’s have an official fifth estate.
Putin would be happy.

And by the way, this is just in. Obama seems to be making lots of friends in Latin America with his alleged actions with respect to Snowden.

I now really wonder which brave country will thumb its nose at the US on this.
And I still remember how well things started for Obama with Latin America.

“The international wrangle over the future of Edward Snowden took a further twist when Ecuador declared it had found a listening device in its London embassy and threatened to reveal who had planted it.
In another day of drama and diplomatic indignation, Ricardo Patiño, Ecuador’s foreign minister, said the device had been discovered a fortnight ago when he had been in the UK to discuss another fugitive, the WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.
Patiño said the hidden microphone had been found in the office of Ecuador’s ambassador, Ana Alban, and he condemned the development as a “loss of international ethics”. ”

More weirdness! Former Russian spy, Maxim magazine centerfold and current host of the Russian TV show, Secrets of the World, Anna Chapman a.k.a А́нна Васи́льевна Ча́пман proposes marriage to Edward Snowden. She’s pretty hot and definably classier than a pole dancer girlfriend. Not a bad consolation prize for Ed.

RE Putin: she was a spy, so I guess is careful what she twits about and with Putin – Obama – Snowden story, somebody could have asked her to twit one thing or another.

The possibility that Snowden has anything on Austria is pretty minimal. Austria is a small, not very significant country. No, it makes a lot more sense that Austria is simply being subservient to the US.

Third hand information (treat it as you will).
US diplomats dread dealing with Austria, a small country that has never forgotten it was once one of the most important countries in the world (by ‘never forgotten it was once’ read ‘thinks it is still’). Short story: US minor diplomats have the unwelcome task of enabling the Austrians quaint belief that they still matter.

She was and is much more than a hooker. And why a hooker at all? Has she sold sex for money or do a few photos in an adult magazine label one for life?

This is really not the kind of a person Putin would involve in any political schemes. All I know about this lady is that she’s been trying to sell herself in very pathetic ways and gossip magazines love writing about that. In short, who cares about such people?

The Plot thickens! REN TV, Chapman’s TV show producers have promised to show a video of “Anna Chapman hunting for Snowden at Sheremetyevo.” Meanwhile, Russian activist Maria Baranova said on Twitter “I would also like to offer Snowden my heart and mostly my passport! Edward! Marry Me!” Personally I think that he has a better chance of a passport with pro Putin Anna. Good thing that he’s in a locked wing of the hotel so he’s safe from all those admiring Russian women. Ed should star in a Russian version of “The Bachelor” where she gets the ring and he gets a passport (He has none at the moment since Ecuador cancelled his temporary one.) Maksim Chmerkovskiy, star of ‘The Bachelor’ Ukraine would have nothing on him. It would have Ed and a bevy of ladies in exotic locations around the world while being hunted by NSA and CIA agents.
