Different Readings

On the way from the airport we drive by a house whose windows are tightly covered with thick black fabric.

“This makes me wonder if a serial killer lives there,” I comment.

“It’s probably a gamer’s house,” N suggests.

  1. I never watch Law and Order because it gives me nightmares. But I would guess serial killer for that scenario. 😉

    1. Vampire gamers!
Combines all of the reasons you have dark windows (needing to sleep during the day, needing darkness to sleep during the day, hating the glare while playing games, and vampires are serial killers by definition). The convenient location by the airport means they get lots of unwary and lost people and they don’t have to leave the house — much. :p

      1. Well there’s also the possibility that the neighborhood is infested with walkers and that’s the neighborhood safe house at night (when they’re more active).

But I do think that vampires (who might want to stay up early instead of going to ground with the sun) is the most economical answer.

Deep in your soul, there’s a best-selling young adult novel waiting to be written 🙂 Bonus points if you include “SHE’S A VAMPIRE!” in your dialogue.
