One of my most favorite makeup products in the world is Big Beautiful Eyes from Benefit. The packaging looks a little frumpy but the product is amazing.
Those for us who are all thumbs will find it unexpectedly easy to create a beautiful, very discreetly enhanced eye with this palette. When I’m at the swimming pool, I use this palette to go from a “Disheveled Swimmer” look to an “Esteemed Academic” look in two minutes.
This product is expensive but it is so good that I can never resist the temptation. I’m on my 3 box and I know it will not be the last one.
I’m not a huge fan of Benefit because their products always seem a little superfluous. This palette, though, is a definite success.
P.S. The same eye-shadow palette can be found in this cheaper product by Benefit but I don’t know much about the other products in this kit.

Which colors do you put where? I love eye shadow palettes but I always screw up which part to make darker and which lighter!

There is a detailed set of instructions in the box, which is very helpful.
The first on the left is a concealer which everybody lives but I don’t use a whole lot. The 2nd from the left is the one you use to cover the entire eye-lash. It is very subtle but pretty. The 3rd goes into the crease of the eye-lash and this creates a bigger, deeper eye. And the last one is used instead of an eye-liner. The instructions suggest you put it on both the top and the bottom but for me that’s too dramatic. I only use the eye-liner on the top lash.

If you’ve ever drawn/painted, you might find it useful to think of eyeshadow as shading – basically, you’re trying to make your eyes look bigger by accentuating how round the eyeball is perceived to be, which is done by making the shadows deeper and the lights lighter. At its most basic, this means the light colour goes on the eyelash and the darker one goes in the crease.
