Reason, yes. Common sense, no. Bertrand Russell wrote that common sense is nothing but the aggregate of all the misconceptions a society or individual has accumulated. (I think it was Russell; I have not yet been able to find the exact quote via an internet search.

Benito Jeronimo Feijoo said something very similar in the 18th century.

Leave out the reason and common sense (and replace it with something more or less like ‘your best judgement and convictions’) and it’s pretty close to the philosophy/world vew I was raised with.
It wasn’t something consciously stated but just always around like oxygen and I took it for granted. It wasn’t till years later that I really realized (as in really, really, really) realized most people were raised very differently.

I was raised to believe this also, Cliff, but with the addendum that anything that contradicted the Bible was automatically wrong. It just might require extreme investigation to figure out independently of the Bible that it was wrong.

And I made this video and the Yankee doodles, the majority of them, decided I was inviting them to talk feminism and the errors of its ways. This confirms the inability of anyone to understand irony after having had their brain flooded by Fox News.

I hate these low-flying planes, they disturb me.
One has to be very limited intellectually to think the video is critical of feminism. Obviously, you are not defending the attitude towards women that came out of losing the war.

That plane was unusual as hell. I think it was a spotter plane for the MH370.
On the other point — yes, it is VERY difficult for people not to draw some gender essentialist “lesson” from the general content of my video. The higher the emotional tempo, the more people are inclined to draw such lessons. I’ve stated things quite calmly, though, which ought to help.
