As the professor explained in class, Sonnet CXCI by Lope de Vega demonstrates that women are just like people.
I especially love this gem of an idea being attributed to me. What I like even more is that this was written by a woman.
Non sequitur and tautology: People are people. Women are a subset of people. Apparently that’s a radical notion.

Not to worry. Long since recovered. Am now two-thirds of the way through a blogged account of my mother’s girlhood in early twentieth-century Vilna and Baku — and no one could tackle that without feeling better! But thank you for being so thoughtful. It’s very sweet of you…. 🙂
