Any collective identity is fine as long as you don’t take it seriously. It’s OK to put up a flag on the Independence Day or enact masculinity or femininity, for instance, as long as you understand that this is just a game and not a way of expressing your profound essence.

i like this post. the more room I can make between acting out my feminineness and understanding the essence makes me feel good. it is not easy though. it is hard if you have a very masculine man in your relationship, or if your family is very attached to these roles.
