Privatization

After an hour – long conversation with the HR department of a state university,  I have reached a single conclusion: immediate and total privatization of everything is urgently needed. What I have seen today can only be described as evil. HR departments are horrible and useless in private companies,  as well,  but they don’t even remotely rise to this level of inhuman insanity.

After I recover from the trauma, I will offer some details of the experience.

  1. I’m sorry to hear this. HR departments are terrible! But are you suggesting that public universities (and public schools more generally) should be abolished?

    OOOOOH yes they do. πŸ™‚

Basically, chirpy, twerpy people who are always trying to tell you how wonderful things are while they’re practising Seagull Management (by crapping on everything they can reach) are the problem, and HR is certainly no exception to this general rule of thumb.

Also, the primary role of HR isn’t to do much more than keeping the organisation out of lawsuits, and even in this primary role their usefulness can and should be debated …

Ever read Max Barry’s “Company”? I get the feeling that his time working for The Man wasn’t all that enjoyable, and that he has a very warped and sinister view toward all matters relating to Hell Relations. πŸ™‚

    1. Wait for my posts on this encounter with the HR department. As much as I hate HR people in private companies, their main issue is that they are simply stupid. But the problem with the state HR is not specific people.

The ideology, the organizing principle behind their operating is just wrong. And evil. And wrong.

      – You can make me smile even in the midst of total unpleasantness. πŸ™‚ Thank you.

  3. Wow, The experience must have been very traumatic for you to write something so radical.

It is a good thing that you already have your B.A. and M.A. from a public university, right?

And how can I get a password? I want details!
