Humiliation

So did you hear about the woman who was standing next to President Obama at the voting poll today,  trying to vote, and was humiliated by her loser of a boyfriend?

“Don’t touch my girlfriend,” the freak told Obama.

“This is a brother who just made a fool out of himself,” Obama commented, looking understandably annoyed.

“I cannot believe this is happening, ” the woman said.

It is really sad to make the news as the girlfriend of a sexist freakazoid.

I hope she dumps him.

  1. Here’s a different story about something else. In southern Africa there is this imaginary entity called a tokoloshe, which wreaks havoc in people’s lives. It’s actually a pint-sized individual, which would embody something akin to what Freud thought of as the ID principle. If a tokoloshe attaches itself to you, or if you buy one, you can command it to do your bidding and to some extent it will oblige. But after a while this Goblin’s insatiable sexual appetite and self-gratifying tendencies will get the better of you and the relationship will no longer be able to be sustained. Then you have to run away from your tokoloshe, or blow it up with dynamite or sell it to the highest bidder.

  2. I’m not sure where you are on the spectrum (in terms of reading body language and intonation) or how much first hand contact you’ve had with African Americans.

The whole interaction (from the boyfriend’s delivery to Obama’s and the girlfriend’s reaction) was clearly teasing joking behavior of a kind often found among African Americans.

I actually like Obama more for his culturally completely correct reaction (muttering to himself in mock annoyance). I ddin’t know he had it in him.
