  1. it’s a citrus fruit. slice it finely, it’ll go nicely in a salad. doesn’t have a bitter pith like other citrus, so peel is entirely edible. very fragrant, too

  2. I met a woman in Whole Foods last spring who was photographing it. I asked if she had a food blog. She laughed and admitted she did. I forget what she said she did to it to get it ready for a plate, but I bet if you typed “Buddha Hand” into Google, you’d find enough recipes to keep you busy for a while. And if you don’t like what you see, there’s always Epicurious. I have no further wisdom on the subject: I’m too much a Type A to be big on Buddhism.

  3. Not sure but I think the hands pictured above are unripe. I’ve seen bright yellow ones. Can’t say I’ve ever tried one, though.

    Dragonfruit is pleasant.

      1. Rambutan is the spikey looking fruit in the background. It’s a tropical fruit– common in Thailand– and very delicious. But an even better fruit from SE Asia (in my opinion) is the mangosteen: http://chomphudoudao.wordpress.com/2008/01/20/mangosteen/

Have you ever tried it? It’s such a delicious fruit. If you ever see it, (and they are hard to find in the USA) I highly recommend. One of the most delicious fruit I have ever tried.

You have intrigued me with Buddha’s Hand though and now I’m curious to try. I thought it was some type of green bean!
