It was made by a local artist who is 90 years old.

    Most people leave ther trees/decorations up until New Year’s. That’s the tradition at any rate! I am surprised that people in your neighborhood are taking everything down!

      Not everybody is doing it. My guess is that people who are leaving for Florida or wherever are removing them before they leave.

    Now I’m wondering about the identity of the ‘birds’ you’ve been watching and starting suspect that some of them might be squirrels or raccoons or possums.

    In Kyrgyz the word for turtle is Tashbaka and the word for frog Baka. Tashbaka literally means armored frog. So a turtle is a type of frog in the former USSR. 😎
