Putin ‘ s Alternative

Idiot Lefties are salivating over Putin because they think he offers an alternative to the United States. What they don’t realize, though, is that it’s an alternative from the far Right instead of from the Left like these pissants imagine.

  1. What people on both the right and left don’t understand is the mindset of Putin. He’s ex-KGB and for anyone who grew up in the past 25 years, they will never understand how this man thinks or what his motives are because they don’t know what the old Soviet empire was all about and history books paint a picture of the cold war like it was something out of a Norman Rockwell painting.

Putin isn’t nuts or crazy…he’s cold hearted and has a very clear understanding of what he wants to achieve, but sadly no one truly knows his goals except those in his inner circle and they aren’t talking because they share his agenda.

Putin’s agenda isn’t to bring peace, but to resurrect the old Soviet Union and all it’s military power back to the world. His agenda is fear and intimidation.

  2. I find Putin reasonably easy to understand. Not necessary predict, but understand. One just has to stop assuming that he is an American patriot (hard to do for people with Americo-centric worldview, I know) and should do things useful for the US. He should not. He should do the opposite. Just as the US is trying to undermine the states or movements that are actual or potential threats to the US (I do not mean some all-encompassing conspiracy theory here, but the US it trying), Putin’s Russia is trying to undermine actual or potential threats to Putin’s Russia. The motives are exactly the same as for the US – part genuine belief in being on the right side of history, part self-preservation (I mean here self-preservation of both leadership and the country as a whole), part prestige, part economic interests and spheres of influence…
Please take the above as a neutral statement that has nothing to do with my personal moral judgment on the US or Russia. I do not see any point in an alternative to the US that is so right-wing, as you rightly mentioned, and on top of it has less developed system of counterbalances and fail-safes…

      • Of course. That’s exactly what he is doing. The creatures that are a bit harder to understand are folks like my former thesis advisor who is a super-duper progressive fellow yet he keeps posting Putinoid messages on his Facebook. And as a result, I don’t even go to Facebook any longer because this makes me want to vomit. And there are crowds of people like this. I don’t get how a person can be passionately in favor of the separation of church and state and just as passionately support Putin.
