Well at least they didn’t block widening sanctions against Russia (a real possibility until a few minutes ago according to Polish tv news).
I’m assuming the playing up to Putin is a Realpolitik tactic to gain concessions on debt restructuring and/or getting out of the accursed Euro zone.

I wouldn’t blame all of Greece ‘s problems on the euro. Yes, joining the Euro zone was not the most inspired decision ever but leaving it is not the instant cure that the Greeks are hoping it will be.
They should stop looking for sugar Mommy to keep coddling them. First, Momma Merkel , now mother Russia. Enough already! Go do something to take care of yourselves.

I wouldn’t either. But it’s worth remembering that what caused the shit to hit the fan was a Greek government trying to be honest (announcing the real debt rate rather than the fairytale one previous governments had been peddling).
The Greek people are neither totally innocent or totally to blame for their current massively horrible situation (which there is no way to exit ever under the current system – paying more taxes is not some magic answer when every citizen is on the hook for 40,000 Euro).
I despise any sincere efforts they might make on Russia’s behalf but I can’t totally blame them for grabbing whatever they can.

Actually, in fact it’s Greece’s and Greek people’s clear as crystal UNDENIABLE FAULT for luring themselves into such an extremely terrible, self-humiliating and absolutely at-the-lowest-bottom situtation. Clearly let’s in fact remind of that absolute undeniable reality.
To be more specific on that, Greek people especially are the FUNDAMENTAL CAUSE of digging their own holes by mindlessly voting without any good reason the same political parties that were obviously fucking corrupt for almost 40 years and they knew it.
Ultimately, to be more accurate and make you acknowledge the true deepth here, the Greeks did NOT even care if their goverment cheat them or not back then and they ACTUALLY still insulted the politicians like they do now but in a happy-face manner like the most fucking mentally retarded MORONS for pseudo-reasons like “Let them try to steal us, the idiots. We Greeks don’t chew. We will always have bouzouki. They don’t know us well. When they will cheat us far enough, we will revolt and show them what it is a Greek.” that makes you universally facepalm yourself to unconsiousness.
Now let me tell you the rest of the factually correct story. Continuing, Greeks spend and wasted MILLIONS of money at skyladika(night music places where they danced and singed until their sound surpassed the throat-cancer barrier and went to full retard shout-mode while breaking plates and throwing flowers to the “professional” singers) recklessly without caring about tomorrow. That was before 2009 and it continued, mind you.
Then Tsohatzopoulos came with Siemens scandals and that’s how the economic crisis pretty much CAME TO THE SURFACE( Papandreou admitted that economic crisis started A YEAR OR SO BEFORE it was actually announced) and then months after Papandreou called the Troika while Siemens scandals with politicians getting brided and stealing money from the state and shit continued. THAT was Greece’s downfall, at least the beginning.
For the moment the Troika took charge the Georget Papandreou started to lose his shit and became from utterly incapable to a total state-harmful moron and so he run away like a poor pathetic puppy and a bankster who I don’t remember his name, took charge as a temporary president.
Then the shit went further south…

Basically agree that this is a ploy to get leverage on the debt. And frankly, the Euro is the primary reason for their issues (especially the germans). The euro is incredibly stupid without a political union. It almost explicitly was to the benefit of Germany and to the detrment of almost every other European nation. Basically most economists agree they “exported” unemployment to the southern European countries and also caused mispricing of risk which led to the housing bubble. Honestly dissolution of the Euro is probably best at this point, and Greece is playing their hand properly (this coming from someone with much different political views in general that I know about in the newly elected greek party).

Greece’s arrogance and short-sightedness really irks me. Consorting with Putin and undermining the rest of the EU in hopes to use that as a bargaining tool- PATHETIC! Now Greece is comparing themselves to post WW1 Germany, threatening that if a ‘great’ country like Greece is marginalized it will lead to Nazi like politics ect. Well Greece is NOT a great country…in fact it’s a third world country with first world entitlement programs….and hence Greece’s real problem. That and the fact that 30 percent is a shadow economy not paying any taxes! Greece must think pensions and schools are funded by magic or what they propose..to have the rest of the EU fund these things. The ECB could absolve all Greek debt but it wouldn’t make a difference as they would just be back in the same position in a few years. Personally I would just let Greece fail which should be a warning sign to the EU that u really can’t have a unified monetary policy without also having a unified fiscal policy. Europe really needs to become the United States of Europe otherwise I don’t see the EU lasting much longer….u either have to go all in or don’t bother at all.
Please Greece stop your whining and blaming the rest of the world for your failed policies……you are still broke but now you’re also pathetic. No worries my big fat stupid American self will visit your islands, spend money (should I skip the formality and just put it into an envelope) and u can make fun of me in order to feel superior…..and i’ll be sure to point out that my drink needs to be refilled!

Yeah the Greeks only think about themselves and don’t seem to think before they speak. I really can’t believe they had the audacity to undermine the EU in regards to Putin. These asses are whining about not being able to retire at 50 while Ukrainians are fighting for their sovereignty. Putin is probing for weaknesses and looks to restore russian dominance (in my humble opinion), Ukraine falls then Bulgaria and so on. Targeting Russia’s economy is a lot easier than to go after them with force…..and no doubt if it came to that it would be American forces….while the Greeks sit on their hairy asses on the beach drinking ouzo. Greeces gaffe hasn’t gone unnoticed in the states. Let them go suck on mother Russia’s tit….they will quickly realize the only thing that comes out of that utter is vodka and real misery. Greece thinks their economy is bad now….undermining the EU and the states politically is not exactly a brilliant move in that regard. I hope they kick them out of the EU, their ploy is almost treasonous in my opinion. If they do u can guarantee the states will blacklist them to some degree – which they deserve. Good luck Greece you’re pretty much screwed whatever u do….I’m pretty sure we can withstand your olive oil embargo – Pathetic!
