But Let’s Not Get Too Optimistic

The Russian TV program I mentioned in the previous post is dedicated to the horrifying video of a woman being beaten into a coma and then slashed on her face with a knife by a man.

A male witness is filmed walking calmly by as the criminal brutalizes the woman.

People in the audience are horrified. “You men! You just walk by when women are being brutalized! And you brutalize women, too!” an angry woman says. “Why don’t you just say once and for all that you are not men! You are women! Women, that’s what you are!”

14,000 women are killed as a result of domestic violence every year in Russia. According to the most conservative reports, one out of every two Russian women has been a victim of rape. Yet the biggest insult a woman can come up for a woman-beating man is that he is. . . a woman.

Mind you, Russian men haven’t been working, providing or producing anything worth a crap for generations. When N told me his Dad had a job back in the 1990s, my reaction was, “Wow, seriously? How come? That’s just so bizarre.” [Mine had a job, too, but mine is a Jew.] Yet the Russian women who are, en masse, sole providers for their families keep fawning over these useless pieces of junk. It’s a mystery.

  1. Is there another word for not being men other than “women”? Symbolically, the absence of masculine virtues was supposed to feminize a person — that is, if we are taking our script from the Nineteenth Century. To my mind, though, attacking a woman is definitively not masculine, since no other species does that. Male creatures do not attack their female creatures. I’m of the view that one cannot be a human being if one polarizes oneself into a gender identity. Therefore those who attack women are probably suffering from a lack of humanization in the first place.

    1. In the Russian language, there isn’t even a tradition of using “man” to mean “a person.” There is an entirely different word for “person.” I’d call them vicious little insects and vile freakazoids.

      • Let’s not idolize animals. Yes, they attack each other, eat their children, kill and maim each other for absolutely no reason. Because they are animals. They can’t be expected to distinguish who is female or male or a. . . what do you call them? Spawn?

      1. Oh, I guess I wasn’t clear. I’m not even part of the contemporary culture, so I don’t go in for the binary of comparing animals to humans at the expense of humans. All I was saying is that within the species you rarely see, for instance a male bunny attacking a female bunny, or other sorts of things within a particular species. I’m really very, very far from being an idiot. I suppose there might be idiots who do not come from Africa and are not exposed to wild things. I guess you may be calling them up on my behalf, but I can’t begin to understand them. Anyway, I hope my point is made, even though it is a generalization of sorts, that it’s an odd thing to do for males to systematically take out their hostility on women.

    1. I like what this Boris fellow has to say. I don’t know why there is so much prissy outrage over it. If one can’t insult the ISIS freaks, who can one insult?

        1. I don’t think they even have another goal than abusing women or another gripe than that it wasn’t as easy as they wanted to abuse women back in Europe. I’m not seeing any motivation at all other than this. But everybody is too PC to say what this is really all about. The Boris fellow is a refreshing exception.

It gets tiring to listen to their boring replications of what they take to be an objective tone. Unfortunately the outside voices are easily neutralized and deemed to be cranks. People are really superficial, but one day I will sneak up and cut their throats to make myself happy.

God, I hate these idiots. Or should I say stupid wankers?
