That doesn’t function as proof of his stupidity. GWB graduated from an Ivy League school, and Jeb Bush graduated Phi Beta Kappa from his university in two years. And they are both very stupid.
It might explain part of his hostility towards public educators, educated people and people who need and want an education.

They were alleging he was good on immigration and education. They were interviewing alleged Democrats who were saying they would not normally consider a Republican but Jeb Bush looked pretty good.

Oh I agree that he’s an idiot. I just don’t think his education has anything to do with how stupid he is. He thought he was talking to a Koch brother when he was really talking to a journalist He’s been receiving rafts of money from this guy, but wasn’t important enough for this billionaire to meet or talk to at the point in time. I don’t particularly like any of these three business titans: Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, and Steve Jobs, but all were/are legitimately extremely intelligent individuals.
Again, to block your likely responses, clearly business and politics are separate, but obviously very smart people don’t go to college. Most very smart people do, but not all .
Lastly, valedictorian of my class here, B+ lowest grade of my life, and 2 A- from 3rd grade thru college graduate at a top 50 school.

I mean you teach at a mid-tier university at best.. one that is between number 150 and 200… so anyone teaching or graduating at yoru school clearly isn’t fit to be president either. I mean there are almost a million students each year who graduate from better schools..

Why do conservatives hate educated people so much? Twenty years ago when the Conservative Party in Ontario was in power, the conservative Premier of the province, Mike Harris, hated teachers so much that he put John Snobelen as Minister in charge of the Department of Education and Training. Snobelen was a Grade 11 drop out who was quoted as saying he wanted to bankrupt the educational system.
“In 1997, Snobelen introduced Bill 160, which gave the province control of municipal education taxes, introduced standardized testing, cut teaching preparation time, allowed the government to determine class sizes and granted early retirement initiatives to older, more experienced teachers. Critics argue that the purpose of this bill was to cut education spending, and reduce the power of the teachers’ unions in order to privatize Ontario’s public education system (Klein, N., The Shock Doctrine). The education restructuring, along with other cuts to government spending, was expected to significantly reduce the province’s deficit. In Pennsylvania, Blacks are barely cracking past the 2/3 margin on graduation rates. Ohio is even worse. Michigan is 60%! I imagine the college graduation rates are much, much lower.
These idiots should not be voting. Sure, that may have meant Romney would have been president (and horror of horrors, we’d be enduring McCain’s second term!), but it’s insane that people who don’t have a high school level of education should have any say in how the country is run!
Now I know, there’s a bit of a difference between a midwestern white guy dropping out of college and a poor urban black who never had the chance to go, but that misses two points:
1) Just because your ignorance might be somewhat justified, doesn’t mean you ought to have a say in how the government interacts with me.
2) Detroit and Philadelphia are controlled by the Democrat party, so they need to get their act together and get their voters educated. Not my fault in rural Georgia if people in Philly are keeping minorities down.
Or… curiously, is this different? Is it okay for ignorant people to elect government officials presented to them, just not to run for the position themselves?

Yes, But when an ignorant person goes to a doctor, they don’t get a say in what the doctor prescribes to me.
With politics, ignorant people voting for X very much has an impact on me.
Or rather, it’s one thing for the ignorant to go to a hospital when they’re sick, it’s another thing to allow them a vote on who makes up the board of directors.

So we both agree that it is objectively harmful to allow ignorant people a say in national policy, be it politics and medicine. And we both agree that having Democracy means allowing Scott Walker to run for president. Have I got it right?
I defend against the double standard, that that means defending Scott Walker is what it is. Once you accept a democratic system of government , and once you accept that you are opening the electorate to the masses, then you accept that you’ll have idiots in charge. But what you seem to want to do is say that the system itself is acceptable, but decry the expected outcome.
I have yet to see a single article questioning what Mark Begich was doing serving in the Senate. Now granted, he never ran for president – but the argument is that these people shouldn’t even be in positions of power to consider running for president in the first place. Singling out Scott Walker looks less like a genuine concern for an educated president, and more like a partisan hit piece.

In your case, I believe that. I do not believe that to be the case for most people ‘concerned’ with Scott Walker’s lack of college credentials. And to be fair, you cannot possibly be held accountable for the lack of good faith I find in people who are not you!

Of course, if you’re going to tax someone and mandate he be willing to serve as cannon fodder should the state demand it of him, you have to be ready to give a little too. I have no doubt that the French or Russian aristocrat was more classical educated than their respective peasants, but they were really quite stupid when it came down to maintaining their lot.

To become the butt of every joke everywhere on the planet? Have we not had enough with the idiocy of Bush who couldn’t string two words together?
There is nothing here to defend. People need to get educated to work in responsible positions. It isn’t such an onerous requirement to ask a person to read a couple of books before attempting to run an enormous country.

But that wasn’t my point. My point was that a qualification of my original point that ignorant people shouldn’t be allowed to vote – that they nonetheless deserve something, because something is expected from them.
I do not see how you can say it’s wrong for ignorant people to hold an office, but acceptable for ignorant people to determine who gets the office. As I said above, it’s not the same as someone without a medical degree going to the doctor, it’s the equivalent of someone without a medical degree deciding who gets a medical license.

So what? ISIS is a bunch of murderous lunatics who everyone agrees are repulsive. That does not change the fact that they are capable of enforcing their will on lots of people and that does not look like it will be changing any time soon. Putin is any number of things… doesn’t make any difference to the people being shelled. Nobody’s going to stop buying ‘made in China’ anytime soon.
International opinion is overrated.
And don’t you often say that Americans think way to highly of their impact on other countries – that Putin will do what he wants regardless of who we have in the oval office? Whatever merits or problems a particular candidate may have, worrying about what jokes foreigners will tell each other about America is a meaningless thing to worry about.
Voting isn’t ‘consuming the services’, it’s – in theory – having an active voice in policy making. And unlike the idiot who insists on pills and so creating a market that pushes pills, voting allows one to push policies on other people that they themselves are not subject to – at least the guy pushing for pills wants the bloody pills! Because whether it’s voting to tax someone else, or voting to bomb someone else, it’s a false analogy to compare voting to a buyer purchasing a product primarily for their own consumption – even if that has a ripple effect on the populace.
