There has been another explosion at a chemical factory in the Ukrainian city of Donetsk. There is a storage of nuclear waste at the factory, which makes the explosion very disturbing and dangerous.
Donetsk is in the hands of terrorists, so the Ukrainian authorities are prevented from accessing the factory and assessing the levels of radioactivity.
The terrorists are drunk and high most of the time. They have been acting in increasingly erratic ways since Putin started giving indications that he’s abandoning them to their fate (until, at least, he is assured that the World Cup will not be moved from Russia.) The terrorists are getting antsy, shooting at each other and blowing things up.
This is a really ridiculous situation that is fraught with all kinds of danger.

Where did you get the above information? Donetsk is not in the hands of terrorists. The Donetsk People’s Republic has a democratically elected Prime Minister, Alexander Zakharchenko, a former mining electrician, who is a conscientious, educated, humane and capable leader. The Donetsk People’s Republic boasts many experts in the field of engineering, and can handle any radiation tests themselves. Indeed, they are probably more capable than Kiev-controlled Urkainians, since Donbass was the industrial center of Ukraine for many years.
A number of observers are of the opinion that the real terrorists are in the Kiev government, the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and the rogue private Ukrainian battalions. These factions have continued to shell civilians in populated Donbass areas since June 2014. The militias of Donetsk and Lugansk have tried to defend these civilians, as any humane government would do. And they have done this in the face of world criticism and misunderstanding.
The militias of Donetsk and Lugansk are not drunk and do not shoot each other. The story that came out about drunken troops referred to the Ukrainian Army. The Ukrainian soldiers are demoralized because they are being ordered to kill people just like themselves. The Donetsk and Lugansk militias, on the other hand, are fighting for their homes, their land and their way of life, and so they are highly motivated and effective in battle. In any case, no country other than Ukraine has declared the leadership or military of Donetsk as “terrorists”. Even the US and the EU have declined to categorize them as such.
The situation is tragic, in that Kiev is bombing its own former citizens, namely the people of Donbass. (The Donbass Republics have since declared their independence, although this is worded as “autonomy” under the Minsk Agreements.) But the situation is not “ridiculous”. Please do not be flip, when well-mannered, culturally sophisticated, educated white people, just like you I imagine, are being randomly killed daily by the Ukrainian Army shelling of Donbass neighborhoods.
I urge you to look deeper for your information than the Western media. I know it is hard to learn the truth, and sometimes even harder to face it, but we have an obligation to at least make the effort.
I am trying to help spread truth and dispel Western media misconceptions.

Do you live in Ukraine? Or do you live in Donetsk? If you live in Ukraine, it does not make you an expert. The media there is controlled by the Kiev government, and anyone living in Ukraine would have less access to the truth than a dedicated Western researcher.
The reason I mentioned “white” people is that I assumed you were white from your photo, and wanted to emphasize that these people your illegitimate post-coup Kiev government are bombing and shelling daily are just like you.
Why are you so deeply biased against the people of Donbass? Do they not have lives, feelings? Why is your government killing them? How can you support Kiev’s massacres? Why not instead encourage the Kiev leaders to grant Donbass its independence and be done with it, if you hate the people there so much?
I am sorry for everyone that people like you are so brainwashed. I wish that you and your followers would find greater enlightenment.

I have relatives living in Donetsk right now, you brainless loseroid. They are being bombed every day by the Russians who have invaded their land. My mother’s native village was razed to the ground by the Russians. Or do you want me to disbelieve the witness accounts of the survivors (who have had no access to any media for months because of the Russian shelling of the village)? The survivors say Russians came, destroyed everything, and laughed at the victims.

You want to dispel misconceptions? Fine. ANY nationalist volunteers tend to commit crimes against humanity. Ukrainian ones, Russian/DNR ones, Serbian ones, Albanian ones, Tutsi ones, Hutu ones. All of them. Nobody is a white and fuzzy unicorn. This is the nature of the beast. Get off your moral high horse.
Industrial areas, especially those that are depressed and run by corrupt local governments, correlate not only with a large numbers of engineers, but with large numbers of criminals. Not politically correct, but true. Think of Detroit. And criminals are not famous for self-control or aversion to alcohol or drugs. Or for being well-mannered. (For the record – obviously there are many well-mannered people on separatist territories. I suspect they are avoiding fighting on either side.)
Any poorly trained military force makes a lot of mistakes that cost lives of the civilians. The opposite is humanly impossible. The only way DNR “militia” can be better trained and make less mistakes than the Ukrainian army is if someone from the outside trained them. Or if some trained force pretends to be the DNR “militia”. Who that might be, I wonder? Or, in other words, please decide if you want to have a cake or to eat it.
The idea of independence is in fact not very popular in DNR/LNR. Those who are not secretly pro-Ukrainian want to join Russia, just like Crimea did. “Independence” is just talk aimed at looking better in the eyes of the outsiders. Tactical move. Left-wing liberals have a soft spot for independence talk but do not have one for nationalist constructs a la “Russian World”…
And yes, the new Ukrainian government should not have messed with the status of the Russian language. Got carried away by desire to emulate Baltic states, IMHO. However, while Baltic nationalism may be unpleasant, it is not anywhere near genocide. So whoever convinced the people of the East that they will fall victims of genocide and the only way to save themselves is armed separatism committed much bigger crime. I wonder, who has that been?
Most countries fight armed separatism. Throw your stones if you have nothing in common with any country that ever fought separatism. Fans of “Russian World” should shut up and think of Chechnya.
Most countries treat countries who annex their territory as enemies and aggressors. Most self-respecting countries fight external aggression. But Ukraine specifically has to be above that, or else they should be considered genocidal fascists… Besides, Ukraine tried that too. I mean – did not fight for Crimea…

You want to include regular armies – I will not stand in your way. However, my point was specifically about nationalist volunteers. Which differ from draftees in two important respects: They have, on average, less of a taboo about killing fellow human beings. And nationalism provides additional excuses and justifications.
