In Canada we suffer more from the low information voter than you folks do. We have people who got phone calls last election telling them that their voting station was changed to a different Riding, and they fell for it. Frankly when it comes to Canadians, of which I am one, if you live in Saskatoon and some guy on the phone tells you to go to Punkydoodles Corners to find your voting poll, you deserve to lose your vote. Up here we have had 5 years of stable government and stable economics. Sure oil has crashed and the provinces have overspent more than California ever did, but some people believe that the money rain cant stop. Well it has sort of. If you work and have children, the government is giving back your money for you to spend at your own discretion. But we have a large amount of the population who will not work, want to sit on their backsides and be kept, and it is these folks who have fallen so far behind, it may not be able to be measured. Finally after 60 years of socialism, most working Canadians have said, to bad so sad, you fiddled your summers away. All of our leftish politicians just don’t listen to the working folks, this time they might have to.

What a great comment. Punkydoodles Corners and the money rain are spot on.
And yes, I also believe that Canada has taken the concept of a social safety net way, way too far.

I do not know who are the Canadians you talked to. It was not me, definitively. This is going to be a crucial election, and I genuinely hope that we will have good debates in the following weeks.
Now, that Universal Child Care Program is a joke. Family started receiving money two weeks before the beginning of the campaign, and minister proudly promote the new program with conservative party shirts on:

Also, families will have to give back a significant amount of this money when filling the federal taxes in 2016, which is something that the conservatives do not mention often. It is so obvious an election tactic it is shameful.
And while I am at it, you should have a look at the USSRish-statue the conservative government seems to like so much:

Mother Canada???
And I did not even mention OIL.

I have no doubt you are aware and following! But people do seem discouraged. The Liberals are continuing with their clown act. Probably they will never recover and will simply fade away from existence. Even life-long supporters seem disappointed.
