Good. Now let’s look at a quote from a fellow who tries to explain why he’s bothered by the Trans-Pacific trade deal:
In other words, if you’re accused of downloading anime in America, the Japanese government can force your American ISP to hand over all of your parents’ online records.
Anime? Parents? Of all the words he could have chosen, he went with these. I checked, he’s a middle-aged man. Here, however, he speaks in a voice of a 13-year-old boy. And it’s not just this excerpt. The whole text is like that.
I find this very curious.

Heh…as a fan of anime I’ve heard this argument against the TPP as well–and I dismiss it as nonsense, since there are places where one can watch or download anime legally. Despite this, people like the idiot mentioned here still go to illegal sites to get their stuff and are shocked and surprised when Japanese companies go after these places.
It’s because they are illegal–why can’t this person get that?

His choice of words could be influenced by his perceived audience.
Also, I think the idea of one’s parents being implicated in one’s alleged crimes is more horrifying for an adult than for a kid. That might have been what he was going for.

It could also be, “My internet history will be under scrutiny because my kid was downloading stuff illegally.”
