Flu Shot

And. . . drumroll. . . I got my very first flu shot ever today.

Not that I believe in them, to be honest, but it’s a new experience, so why not?

Thanks go to everyone who recommended it.

  1. Good! I was about to be a nag and remind you — but I couldn’t find a post where I thought the nag might fit in with the posted topic. πŸ™‚

  2. Well done! We are big fans of the flu shot. When I first moved to where I am now, with a 4-year-old and sans husband, that first winter the kid had the flu and then I had it. I never felt worse in my life — high fever, puking non-stop, not being able to bring the fever down on account of all the puking, not able to drink anything; I was really freaked out. I remember calling a doctor to ask what to do as the fever won’t come down and I can’t keep any liquids in, and they said to come down to the ER to get some IV fluids, to which I said “But I have a kid, he’s sleeping, I can’t bring him now in the middle of the night,” and they were basically “Well, tough luck then.” I felt to pissed and helpless. Luckily, I eventually got better, but since that year, my whole family and I have been having flu shots and, knock on wood, they’ve worked well.
