Big Achievement

Iran has handed over its entire stockpile of enriched uranium. The NYTIMES calls it “one of the biggest achievements in Obama’s foreign policy.”

And I’m sure the article’s author was being completely serious.

  1. “Iran has handed over its entire stockpile of enriched uranium.”

Really? Other news sources say “almost all” — and nobody knows how true that is except… Iran. But the Iranian government is very trustworthy, right? Just ask John Kerry.

The NYTIMES is right about one thing. This is certainly as big as achievement as anything else Obama has done in foreign policy, except maybe for Hillary’s “reset” with Russia. (Apparently the word on the toy red “reset” button actually read, “Overcharge.” Putin must have gotten a big laugh over that.)

    1. Yes, the reset was one big joke. I can’t believe that after everything that happened, there is still such enormous trust extended to Russia. If this is an achievement, then what’s a pathetic defeat?

  2. Not all of Iran’s low-enriched Uranium was sent.

“The shipment included the removal of all of Iran’s nuclear material enriched to 20 percent that was not already in the form of fabricated fuel plates for the Tehran Research Reactor,” U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said in a written statement.

“This removal of all this enriched material out of Iran is a significant step toward Iran meeting its commitment to have no more than 300 kg of low-enriched uranium by Implementation Day,” Kerry added.

Meanwhile, The Islamic Republic of Iran — which hangs a mere three people per day — should be congratulated on its progress in human rights, particularly for women.

On the UN’s Human Rights Day, observed December 10, an Iranian woman was sentenced to death by stoning in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Soon, Iran’s human rights will be right up there with our delightful trading partner, Saudi Arabia.

    1. A removal to Russia is no removal at all. Does anybody really trust Russians to take it and keep it away? And not, say, finish enriching it and it give it back?

I’m just not seeing the achievement here.
