Liberals of the World, Unite!

Russian Liberals are also making excuses for the Cologne rapists. But at least there is a clear logic behind their position: anything bad that can be attributed to immigrants in Europe makes Putin happy. And their job as Liberals is to contradict Putin. Not that this excuses the woman-hating assholery of their position.

The only actual difference I’m noticing is that in Russian-speaking media, only men justify these sexual assaults. And in English-speaking media it’s mostly women.

I’m wondering in how many languages I will hear the narrative of “This is just their culture, we have to be understanding. And it’s not them, anyways. It was all a setup by neo-Nazis. And if it wasn’t, then this is the behavior they picked up from Germans.”

  1. Feminists responded to the mass molestation of women by foreign migrants in Cologne on New Years Eve by denouncing “German born men”.

“What happens on the right-wing platforms and in chat rooms is at least as awful as the acts of those assaulting the women,” Ralf Jaeger, a member of the left wing Social Democratic Party of Germany, told reporters this morning.
“This is poisoning the climate of our society”, he added, after equating anti-immigration rhetoric with sexual assault.

Notice the minister used the words “at least as awful.” May be, people in those chat rooms are more awful.

        1. The BBC — hardly a haven for conservative opinion– and the right-wing propaganda site “Infowars” both report essentially identical stories about the obvious fact that virtually all of the rapists were non-resident Muslims acting in mobs — and that fact is supposed to be forbidden to state, because — dag-nab it! — Germany and every other country on this planet also have their share of home-grown criminals???

Some “progressives” spend a lifetime hb filling their minds with nonsense, without ever learning the difference between an apple and an orange. (According to the U.S. Air force, I have type 1 colorblindness — good enough for a flight surgeon to qualify for flying status — and even I can spot the difference immudiemtl

          1. Sorry, somehow hit the “post” button while I was proofreading my comment. The “”hb” in the second paragraph is an obvious typo, and the last sentence should state that even as a colorblind outsider, I can nonetheless spot the obvious difference in the apples versus oranges situation immediately.

No one really cares what the white feminists and lefty loons on private political website say, but when German officials in positions of power echo these sentiments, this bodes ill for the future of both Germany and the EU in general.

        2. I’m in no doubt that the thing happened; it’s a major news story. The thing is can one rely on Infowars to report it in a remotely accurate, objective and unbiased way?

I did not fully rely on Infowars, but at the time of posting could not find reports on other sites. Btw, a few major feminist sites I sometimes visit are still silent. When mainstream and feminist media (including blogs) refuse to fulfill their respective roles of reporting news and standing for women, the space is filled by relatively radical anti-immigrant people.

Can you clarify which bit of information looks suspicious to you? If you read BBC report, you will see Ralf Jaeger’s quote about German bloggers being worse and more dangerous to society than rapists.

  2. FIGHTBACK: German Vigilante Groups Pledge To Protect Women In Migrant Sex Assault Cities
    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2016/01/07/fightback-german-vigilante-groups-pledge-protect-women-migrant-sex-assault-cities/

I have a very bad feeling about it. Both since the following is police’s job and since such vigilante groups have a potential to go bad very fast. When people feel their government decides not to protect them and lose faith in democratic process, you know what happens and what happened in Germany not too long ago.

      1. Wanted to ask you something. After Paris attacks, you said they were unconnected to the issue of Syrian refugees. Would you say that the debate regarding accepting refugees and the recent attacks in Germany (and other countries) are unrelated too?

\ Of course, vigilante mobs are a horrible thing, especially in Germany. This is all deeply disturbing.

        Now remembered reading this:

GERMAN POLICE ARREST ‘VIGILANTE HEADING TO TRAIN STATION CARRYING A MEAT CLEAVER’
Police said he told officers he was shocked by the sex attacks at the station last week, and had decided to travel there to make sure it did not happen again.
Volker Stall, a police spokesman, said the man wanted to ‘bring things in order’.
‘When he was asked what he was planning, he said he was travelling to Cologne in order to get a picture about what exactly happened there for himself.
‘Asked what he planned to do with the weapon, he said that the meat cleaver was a part of that process.’

This article seems informative and good in general:

\ Police have admitted they fear it was part of a known criminal enterprise
Fear it was a professional gang who sexually assault women as distraction
Cologne town centre has been called a ‘no-go area’ by its own city council
There are now fears the upcoming carnival will be scene of similar assaults \

They are unconnected in the sense that there was already an enormous number of disaffected migrants in Europe before the Syrian refugees came. And it’s the same about the Cologne attacks. What does it matter if these are people who emigrated yesterday, last year or ten years ago?

I think they are connected in the sense that accepting several additional millions of immigrants / refugees will greatly increase the number of disaffected migrants. If there are huge problems now and Europe does not succeed too well to absorb and integrate former migrants, why will the situation with current millions of young men be different? That’s the argument of people who want to limit migration.

Btw, that news site looks good. Found another informative article with latest (disappointing) developments in German crime investigation and in other EU countries:

              • Yes, of course. I just want to avoid the inane discussions of how “these are not the specific refugees admitted in 2015.” Like it matters. Already the discussion is drowning in who arrived where and when.

“It added: ‘Women had to literally ‘run the gauntlet’ of very drunk men. In the course of the operation numerous crying and shocked women / girls approached officers and told them of sexual assaults by male migrants / groups. Unfortunately it wasn’t possible to identify them anymore.'”

              • I’ve been warning about this for years. Because I have experienced how these men behave towards women when they are alone or congregate in groups of 3 or 4. What they are like when there is a thousand of them, I don’t want to imagine. But nobody ever believes women. All I ever heard in response was that I’m exaggerating, inventing, I’m too sensitive, or at best there was no reaction at all.

People claim it does matter very much since “it’s those illegal and criminal African migrants, who are completely different from extremely grateful Syrian refugees, the latter being more law-abiding than ethnic Germans according to some police report.”

I do not believe Syrian refugees will be different from former migrants, btw.

Could you being “Russian” (the way Americans label FSU people) be a contributing factor? Americans may assume all FSU people are inclined to be racist and exaggerate every little thing concerning “non white” Arabs.

Also, the people in question may have been too afraid to say anything racist / “racist,” had they acknowledged your experience. So their only two choices were lack of reaction or (pretending to?) disbelieve you.

                • I know it’s not something one wants to acknowledge or accept, but for a woman to be believed about sexual harassment is much, much harder than for anybody to be believed about any other sort of crime. When I’d tell people that I had my wallet stolen, nobody had a problem believing that at all. There was not a single “yes but” directed at the story.

  3. Somebody in the comments shares my view:

\This is not good news. The Nazis came to power when their street gangs beat the Communist street gangs. The Roman republic fell when the gangs of Clodius beat the gangs of Milo. There is a long tradition of gang warfare in Western Europe and it has always been bad.

A good result would be if the duly appointed authorities had the official police arrest all the law breakers. Then they could be incarcerated or deported or both in an orderly fashion.
