Do You Feel Sorry for Jeb?

People feel compassion for Jeb Bush and the way he’s making himself look pathetic in this campaign.

I must be a bad person because I’m incapable of feeling any pity for anybody named Bush. After what these people did to all of us, I feel like Jeb’s current misery doesn’t even remotely begin to expiate the Bush sins.

Hey, don’t feel so smug about your lack of empathy. It’s been years since I felt sorry for ANYBODY. 🙂

  2. He was instrumental in getting his brother to the White House, no matter his claims of neutrality. It’s so weird he’d be incompetent at running a campaign. 🙂

    1. The campaign is an incredible disaster. The guy is the epitome of incompetence and weakness. In the last debate, when he tried reciting his prepared jokes, they just fell flat because he can’t connect with the audience. What a fiasco.

  3. “the Bush sins.”

George H. W. Bush handled American power very well. His son mismanaged that might terribly.

But Obama deliberately threw it away! Which President do you think has really humiliated his country?

    1. Bush, by spending billions of dollars on an unnecessary war and overseeing the crash of the US housing market due to the easy money/lower interests policies of the Fed.

You might recall that the Fed was headed then by Alan Greenspan until 2006, by which time the set-up for the coming economic storm had been set.

        • Exactly. What Bush did to the economy cannot be forgiven. And the way he tarnished the image of this country is absolutely a million times worse than anything Obama could ever do. Take their handling of Putin, for instance. Obama, at least, did impose sanctions. Bush, instead, tongue-kissed Putin for 8 years, allowing him to run all over his neighbors.

  4. I’m kind of all over the place. My first and always pre-eminent thought is that I do not want him to be president.

As long as it it seems that he probably won’t be barring massive governmental and electoral failure or some similar catastrophe, I can be slightly (very slightly) charitable.

I kind of have the idea that he’s probably (slightly) mentally healthier than the rest of his hell-brood and I sort of think his marriage is symptomatic of at least trying to deal with some of the Bush issues on his own.

And of course it shouldn’t be a cause for joy to watch someone fail so ignominously … but then I remember his role in helping his awful brother become president and my heart hardens again.
