Word Games

Sanders’s senior adviser just said on MSNBC that Obama and Biden are progressives while Hillary isn’t. Which is every kind of funny.

  1. I never watch MSNBC except for comedy relief, but whoever said that is right about one thing: Biden comes across as infinitely more sincere as a populist than Hillary does.

  2. That’s funny, because I’ve heard and read some of Senator Sanders’ supporters claim that President Obama is not a progressive, but a Republican (or a “tactical Republican” as one idiot wrote). And Hillary was actually ranked as one of the most liberal Senators during her term.

Of course, people are free to give their own opinions, but to say that Obama (and Hillary for that matter) are really Republicans stretches reality to the breaking point.

    1. The usual terms for people declared party traitors are:

“D.I.N.O” (Pronounced “dino” as in “dinosaur”) — “Democrat in name only.”

“R.I.N.O” (“Rhino” as in “rhinocerous”) — “Republican in…” (You get the idea)

Democratic President Harry Truman expressed the sentiment without name-calling in 1950: “If you give the voters a choice between a phony Republican and real one, they’ll choose the real one every time.”
