What is happening in Ukraine is a metaphor for individual human existence. Ukrainians have defeated an overwhelmingly stronger and better prepared enemy and turned a deeply hostile public opinion in their favor. But the internal enemy of deep-seated corruption is proving a lot harder to defeat. Corruption exists inside oneself, and inner demons are always a lot harder to vanquish than any external enemy.
This is why people so often hide from the need to battle their inner demons behind rants about evil bosses, coworkers, neighbors, and all sorts of nasty oppressors.
Ha, this is all very cryptic. Did something happen that prompted you to write this?

There is a massive corruption scandal in Ukraine. The government might collapse. I’m worried!
But nothing special in my life.

As far as I know, and so does Clarissa, this is happening every day. That’s a huge problem of all ex-Soviet countries. Ukraine was infected by the corruption disease long ago and is no trying to recover.
The disease is very dangerous and quite infectious. Here is an example:
Back in the post-Soviet Ukraine, we once had a guest from Australia, a very nice person, who didn’t even suspect how corrupt the whole society was. Well, one the second (!) day of his stay in the ex-USSR, he bought a dozen of $1 worth illegal CDs and took them with him back home to Australia.
The disease is much easier to catch than cure.
