Parental Roles

At the hospital, I was assigned a bracelet that says “father” and N was officially labeled “mother.” We are lucky nobody tried to pump him for milk.

  1. At least the hospital was still traditional enough to use the labels “mother” and “father” rather than something more PC, such as “parental caregiver of whatever gender #1” and “parental caregiver of whatever gender #2.”

    1. The hospital was obsessed with avoiding accidental swapping of babies. They have complex procedures that they keep faithfully. It would even get funny over time.
