The MSNBC coverage of the SC primary is egregious. They are doing their damndest to present Hillary’s impending win as not a real win, saying that people are only voting for her because they think there’s no other choice and that voters have no enthusiasm or interest in the primary.
None of this is helping Bernie, so I don’t think this show is being put on for his sake. This helps Trump, especially given that the same newscasters portray his campaign as provoking great enthusiasm among voters.
How enthusaistic are Mrs. Clinton’s supporters? I tried to find a video of a recent rally and found none indicating large numbers of enthusaistic supporters.
Here, on the other hand, is a link to a video of a Trump rally today in Mrs. Clinton’s home state, Arkansas. It looks as though many, many Trump supporters were there and quite enthusisatic.

Weirdly enough South Carolina has an open primary and is not currently compliant with Real ID.
I would expect higher voter turnout in a Republican primary in South Carolina simply because there are more registered Republicans in South Carolina than registered Democrats and the state went for the Republican in the last two presidential election.
Most people don’t know if their state primary/caucus is open or closed.
FYI, my parents were moved to change their registration to a party specifically because they want to vote in the primary and their state’s primary is closed. My mother, especially, has never been a registered party voter, ever.

Back in 2014, when the last Democratic primary was held in South Carolina, 67 percent of eligible voters were black. In general, black voters also have a higher turnout rate in the Palmetto State than the national and state average, which is partially attributed to the fact that South Carolina’s voter laws are less strict than other states’. That’s why Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton are banking on the support of those voters during today’s primary.
And as it turns out, those voters have already turned out in waves. The South Carolina State Election Commission has reported that 71 percent of the state’s early voters were black.

Out of curiosity, who MSNBC are you watching right now? I pretty much only watch Rachel Maddow (and occasionally Ezra Klein) on that channel and Maddow seems pretty pro Clinton to me. So I’m just curious who you are watching. 🙂

To be honest, I’m watching nobody on MSNBC because they annoy the crap out of me. I also avoid Fox. This includes online videos. I find the talking head commentary to be worthless and time consuming. Do I really need a reaction to Marco saying Trump peed his pants and Trump saying Marco trowels on makeup? Or who called who “pussy?” The O’Reilly show is designed to be watched by the hard of hearing.

I do like Maddow but generally I agree with you. Most of MSNBC is annoying. Chris Matthews is the worst.

There is this fellow with a goatee called Chuck and an older fellow called Lawrence, I think. The older one did an interview with Bernie yesterday.
I only recently started watching the channel, so I’m not good with personalities.

CNN is the least biased of the three main news cable channels (FOX, CNN, and MSNBC), although CNN frequently leans to the left. Fox is obviously conservative, but at least usually includes a Democrat on its panels. MSNBC is a farce — the ONLY Republican they ever feature is ex-Republican Party chairman Michael Steele.
If you want to get a general view of the primaries from multiple political directions, flip back and forth between those three channels.
