By the way, the only person who never asked any questions I didn’t want to answer was my regular Uber driver Mike. There are only two Uber people in my town, and I became friendly with Mike because he kept driving me to St Louis and back.
Mike is as talkative as any Uber driver, yet he somehow always knew what not to ask.
“I’ve been a tour bus driver for over 40 years,” Mike explained in answer to my unasked question. “I always know what to say and what to shut up about.”
Right now, Mike is vacationing in Florida and sending me happy photos of himself and his dog.
