I heard 4 different reporters on two different channels say, “This was a serious assault” and in the same breath “A simple apology when it happened would have sufficed.”
This is, of course, completely ridiculous because you can’t have it both ways. If it was an assault, saying “I’m sorry” right after assaulting a person would have sounded like mockery and would have resolved nothing. If, on the other hand, the situation can be erased from everybody’s memory with “I’m sorry,” it was anything but an assault.
I’m convinced that reporters are pushing these ridiculous, contradictory narratives on purpose. They want a chance to obsess on yet another entirely trivial, manufactured Trump drama because it’s so easy to take up hours of air time with that instead of doing the work of actual reporting.
I think Fields decided to run with this non-story before she realized how much footage would show up that makes her seem like a silly drama queen.
If his relatively gentile disentangling her from the candidate caused bruses then she’s clearly too delicate to actually do any physical work…

In my country, journalists would at least take bribes from Trump to make him the center of attention in such a manufactured melodrama. And these idiots are doing his dirty work for free. What a joke.

A young healthy person with normal skin and circulation doesn’t get bruising like Lewandowski’s from “gentile” contact. Assuming that she wasn’t on blood-thinner medication (highly unlikely at her age) and that the bruises occurred at the time of the reported incident, her arm was grabbed rather forcefully.

I’m sure this will all be figured out in court. But it’s annoying that such a minor incident has become mega news of the day feeding Trump’s popularity.

I…don’t know. I think people like covering this because she’s a young. princess-and-the-pea, attractive white appearing reporter, he’s the campaign manager and there’s lots of video so they can all howl indignantly about “freedom of the press” and pretend to be the sports reporters they wish they were. People are getting kicked, pepper sprayed, and punched at Trump rallies, but the media
¯_(ツ)_/¯ because they’re not any of the above. Touch a reporter and what a monster you are!
I saw some random story from the former manager of a Trump superPAC where she’s trying to “warn” us about Trump. She’s either disingenuous or dumb because all of the warning signs were there for anyone who cared to pay attention which she didn’t because she was getting a paycheck and she’s an adjunct professor at NYU for Reputation Management.

Every news channel is playing the video of the incident on an endless loop. The video is blurry and can be interpreted in any way anybody likes but they keep showing it. This is such lazy reporting.
