Panama Papers Will Hurt Clinton

Panama papers will be bad for Clinton, pundits say. I’m not surprised because whenever a bear farts in the woods near Magadan, that’s bad for Clinton. And whenever a llama grazes in the Andes, that’s disastrous for Clinton, too. And whenever the bear doesn’t fart and the llama doesn’t graze, that’s truly damaging for Clinton. Because everything is. People will find reasons to hate her no matter what does or doesn’t happen. Alongside with the certainty of death and taxes, there is the certainty of a profound collective need to hate successful, accomplished women.

As for the Panama papers, I’d be careful with them for now because it’s still not clear who released them and for what purpose. But all the existing versions of who did this info dump are not encouraging.

  1. Can’t wait for US names to come out.

Though if it turns out that companies and wealthy individuals are indeed using these services to escape taxation/launder money and that Clinton and Obama pushed certain trade deals despite being warned that it would make this situation worse, then both Clinton and Obama deserve some criticism. No?

    1. It increasingly seems that the info dump was organized by Putin. And he desperately needs Trump to win the election. He definitely would want to see as much damage inflicted on Obama / Clinton as possible.

      1. Sometimes I feel you’ve established Putin as some kind of ‘flawless rival’ in your mind, someone can never be bested. Not only is good news good for him, even bad news is good for him. He’s always twenty steps ahead of everyone on the planet.

There is no doubt that he’s a very powerful person but surely there have to be limits to what he can do.

Anyway, this is an interesting take. I would love to know why you think this leak was organized by him.

He was soundly defeated by a non-existent Ukrainian army and all of his plans regarding Eastern Ukraine collapsed. He has now also been defeated in Syria. Of course, previously Chechens have made a total fool out of him and have been manipulating him like a puppet for over a decade. And Obama masterfully knocked him on the nose with Cuba.

So no, he’s not that hard to best. And once Trump loses this election, that will be another massive defeat.

  2. Hillary people seem to take disagreement with policies personally and call it “hatred.”

Not to say she has not been treated horribly over the years — she has. But disagreement is not hatred.

    1. Disagreement with what, exactly? What is anybody disagreeing with Hillary about in regards to the Panama scandal?

“Not to say she has not been treated horribly over the years — she has. But disagreement is not hatred.”

      “Yes but” means “no.” 🙂

Yes, HRC has suffered from this and does.

That does not mean that disagreement with her points of view, disagreement with actions as a public official, etc. — or dislike of anything the Panama papers might reveal — is all based in “hatred.”

          • This statement – which is rolled out every single time anybody mentions sexism directed at Hillary – has become an equivalent of the “not all men” argument. Yes, not all disagreement, yes, not all men. Now that this has been reiterated, maybe we can finally talk about the male rage that is fueling so much of the weirdness in this electoral campaign.
