Turns out that the UK doesn’t even sell its passports to crooks from all over the world. No, it exchanges citizenship for short-term loans.
If a bandit from another country lends the UK €2,800,000, he can get papers that will eventually entitle him to a passport. And once he gets the passport, the UK gives him back the money.
I’ve got to wonder, how hard is it for a country like the UK to get a loan if it has to collect criminals from all over the world and treat them to British citizenships in order to raise some short-term cash?
Whats the source? Curious to read why.
In the US there is a form of 250,000 – 500,000 to get a US visa. Assuming they go through same background check I am not 100% opposed to this. However, instad of letting it be a play for real estate, they should structure it more as business capital to increase productivity. I could see Trump getting behind something like this, and he would be wise to do so. He would make it clear he is not anti-immigrant, but rather pro-american investment and “winning”domestically.

Here is a link. Read down a little to employment section. I like the old terms.. $1 million and hire 10 employees. get a visa. I am very good with those terms, and a ton of chineese, middle eastern, and russians might take it. And assuming you pass thorough security scan, you are in.

What’s good about a bunch of criminals, murderers, organized crime bosses getting UK passports??

It’s an indication that borders really don’t exist for rich people. Pay $1 million or 500,000 and get a green card.
I dealt with two such business green card recipients. They were not ethical and they deliberately picked employees who they knew wouldn’t complain or question them. They thought labor laws were optional and they had very weird expectations of the kind of work they could expect from the employee pool they were fishing in.
Nobody pays ridiculous sums of money for mere visas unless they’ve been trafficked.

Canada used to do this for 800k CAD until 19 June 2014 …
But that’s not a problem because Québec still has its provincial programme, and you can become part of the investor programme there for 800k CAD as well, provided that you have net assets of at least 1600k CAD.
