It is becoming clear that Klara will probably be an air ventilation specialist when she grows up. She is endlessly fascinated with ceiling fans, and mind you, she’s never seen them move yet because we haven’t been turning them on yet.

Yeah, here in Arizona we run indoor ceiling fans year-round — NEVER turn them off. (The manufacturer guarantees the motors on indoor fans for life.)

We don’t have them where I’m from, so I’m still not used to having them on. Even though it’s getting very hot already.

She does have mobiles, does she not? And a baby gym? Before you can crawl or walk, things you can look up at when lying on your back are very important.

She has a baby gym and the other day she learned to grab a toy that’s hanging close to her!! That’s a huge milestone.

I had this mobile made of origami birds my uncle had made and hung from a real tree branch with fishing line, very beautiful mobile because the birds were folded from variegated paper, so they seemed to turn colors and shimmered as they moved.
Also a few dangling Christmas ornaments because it was that time of year. All this stuff to look at, when the fans go on creating breeze that will move them, makes the world very marvelous.

My prediction. She’s not interested in them as cooling devices (since you’re not using them as such despite the heat… hrmmmm)
She’s imaging the cool tricks she could do in her future career as a Circus Soleil soloist!
