I started using the vocabulary building function on my new Kindle and discovered, to my great dismay, that it takes me 10 times longer to learn new words than it did back in my 20ies. This is a really good vocabulary builder that always puts the new words in context, but my brain still struggles enormously to retain them. And then fails.
It used to be enough for me to look at a list of words for 20 seconds and remember them forever and now I struggle and struggle. It’s good I already have all the degrees I need.
Some people associate a temporary (or semi-permanent) decline in mental acuity to the change in sleep patterns that comes with motherhood. You never sleep as soundly because you are always subconsciously listening for sounds from the baby.

Ah, that’s very good to know! Thanks for telling me. I feel relief.

Which language are those words in: Spanish or English?

Good question. They are both but English words get memorized somewhat more easily.
