Math Envy

Our math department is so great that I feel a strong urge to start taking courses with them.

It takes some kick-ass educators to get me interested in math.

    1. They teach classes on history of math to future middle school teachers. How cool is that? I’d love to take such a course.

And they have really fascinating ways of teaching topology that even got me interested! Me! Topology!

      1. I stumbled on this video series from Spain on the history of chemistry and actually enjoyed listening to it (I would have bet a lot that that would not be possible beforehand).

It’s not super dynamic but I liked listening to the speakers (nice and clear peninsular with final s’s).

  1. Some of the best critical thinkers who come through my classes are math majors. I have a great time with mathematicians who think about things beyond math, because their training does such a good job of teaching them how to think, regardless of the subject. I like people who think. 🙂
