Yes. We are still forced to pay our premiums in full, though. They are not releasing us. It’s shambolic.

Yes, we were going to switch anyway but I never got to it. I hope another pediatrician still takes this insurance.

I did a little digging and it looks like they might. I found a copy of the law in question here: http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ilcs/ilcs3.asp?ActID=1265&ChapterID=22
In particular, 215 ILCS 134/25 (it’s about a quarter of the way down the page, and if you press CTRL + F and type in “Transition of Services” you can find it right away. In particular, it states:
“(a) A health care plan shall provide for continuity of care for its enrollees as follows:
(1) If an enrollee’s physician leaves the health care plan’s network of health care providers for reasons other than termination of a contract in situations involving imminent harm to a patient or a final disciplinary action by a State licensing board and the physician remains within the health care plan’s service area, the health care plan shall permit the enrollee to continue an ongoing course of treatment with that physician during a transitional period:
(A) of 90 days from the date of the notice of physician’s termination from the health care plan to the enrollee of the physician’s disaffiliation from the health care plan if the enrollee has an ongoing course of treatment…”
There’s no definition of “ongoing course of treatment” anywhere in the document, but seeing as infant vaccinations are considered medically necessary, I think it could be argued that it constitutes an “ongoing course of treatment,” at least until the vaccination series is over. But I’m not a lawyer, so I honestly don’t know what exactly is covered.

No. Not until April 1. The current insurance doesn’t release people except for a single day in the year. This is the perfect scam: the state refuses to pay our bills but keeps charging us premiums.

Is it legal for a medical caregiver to use the unit to make political statements? It is not in many countries, it is against the UN declarations of human rights. Is is also a sort of racial and economical profiling and discrimination.
I have read on several sites that now there are only 2 nations who haven’t got paid parental leave . the US and – Papua New Guinea. And PNG is in the process to introduce it.
Anyhow, it probably is a good thing to get rid of the Dr Theodor Morell clinic.
