We Are With Her

Klara’s grandparents have driven through miles and miles of Trump country, freaking out over every Trump sign on the way. After they arrived, we took Klara out for a walk around the neighborhood.

When the grandparents finally saw a Clinton / Kaine sign, they started waving and making power salutes at the lady who was driving out of that house’s garage.

The lady stopped next to us and asked if our joy was a result of the Hillary sign.

“We are with her! We are with her!” we chanted.

” Let’s go win this thing on Tuesday!” the lady said.

It was a very good moment.

  1. Are you and N going to vote? Obama apparently really wants people to vote regardless of their citizenship status.

“when you vote, you are a citizen yourself”

More fluidity! The very concept of citizenship is eroding as we watch, aided by the POTUS!

    1. I think the concept of citizenship will get eroded because it’s inconvenient for exterritorial elites. I believe the first step will be that everybody who has proof of residence in a certain area will get to vote there.

The next step will be to give voting rights to everybody who works in an area even if they work through telecommunications and has never visited the area.

But that won’t be a big deal because the number of issues that national governments can effectively address is getting reduced anyway.

I’m not saying that any of this is a good thing. But I believe that this is the future irrespective of what I feel about it.

    2. Obama just sank even lower in my book.

Foreigners participating in American elections and pushing elections almost certainly to the left is my reason of the day to be against globalism.

This is bad because a country like Mexico could send people over to vote in Mexico’s interest without concern about what is best for America.

      1. All that Obama meant is that voting is a civic duty. The statement couldn’t be more banal. And thanks to Obama the dollar is strong and the economy is enormously better than at the end of the Bush presidency.

          1. UGH! I hate this rhetoric of Bush and Obama were equally bad; Trump and Clinton are equally bad. No. They are not.

Bush tanked the economy and got us into a needless war and completely destabilized the middle east.
Obama led the country towards a remarkable economic recovery and oversaw one of most important peace deals of the last 30 years (the Iran deal.)
Trump is a boorish misogynist whose only claim to fame is that he was born rich. Trump has no specific plans for the country other than the race bating plan of “building a wall.” He also wants to jail women who have had abortions.
Clinton is dedicated public servant with years of experience and deep knowledge of domestic and international affairs. Clinton has extensive infrastructure plans and also plans to tap in to the “green energy” market– an important and growing area of technology. She also supports a woman’s right to choose.

These candidates ARE NOT THE SAME. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I leave it to you to parse why that doesn’t matter to to these people. Also notice how this dude rolls in here claiming this video Cliff posted was true after I thoroughly debunked it in this very thread.

No, it will get eroded because it will be restricted to elites. How is it inconvenient for them? Real elites can move themselves almost as easily as they can move their money and citizenship confers protection and freedom of travel, especially if it’s a US passport.

Obama apparently really wants people to vote regardless of their citizenship status.

Snopes has rated this claim false. Here’s the entire video so you can judge that claim (and the captions )for yourself.

    Here:
OBAMA: Not true. And the reason is, first of all, when you vote, you are a citizen yourself. And there is not a situation where the voting rolls somehow are transferred over and people start investigating, et cetera. The sanctity of the vote is strictly confidential in terms of who you voted for. If you have a family member who maybe is undocumented, then you have an even greater reason to vote.

RODRIGUEZ: This has been a huge fear presented especially during this election.

OBAMA: And the reason that fear is promoted is because they don’t want people voting. People are discouraged from voting and part of what is important for Latino citizens is to make your voice heard, because you’re not just speaking for yourself. You’re speaking for family members, friends, classmates of yours in school…

    RODRIGUEZ: Your entire community.

OBAMA: … who may not have a voice. Who can’t legally vote. But they’re counting on you to make sure that you have the courage to make your voice heard.

It is silly to say he’s promoting illegal aliens voting when 1)he talks about people who can’t legally vote and 2) that video points to iwillvote.com, which tells people they have to be a citizen to vote.

The people who have trouble proving their citizenship through documents
are the elderly who may have been born at home (especially black people) and <a href=”http://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/25/us/lawsuit-texas-immigrants-birth-certificates.html>people who were born in America to undocumented immigrants. Hardly “elites”.

Chickenshit idiot has to even lie on the internet about the reasons for his vote. Like, we were all thinking he was on the fence and it was this video that finally pushed him to vote for Trump.

“What, Ben voted for Trump?? Nooooo not Ben, noooo!
