Protests

At least, there are protests in several cities. Good for morale, which is all we’ve got right now.

There was a period of 5 years during which I followed no news at all, believe it or not. I watched the beginning of the war in Iraq on TV, and that was it until 2008. Had no TV service at all for several of those years, never picked up a newspaper, knew nothing of what went on. Couldn’t face seeing Bush’s dumb grin, just couldn’t. Read tons of mystery novels and rented kilos of shows from Blockbuster.

I don’t want to do that again but it’s better than seeing the orange frog spout shit every day.

  1. “Those protesters are idiots.”

True, but who cares? The election’s over, and if they want to waste time shouting childish, totally useless obscenities at the night, let them. Trump will still be President-elect in the morning.

Compensatory mechanisms change over time & with circumstance? I think I may have to do that. I used to hate-watch SOTUs while posting in comment sections while Shrub was President. I can’t yell at the television for another 4 * (or more) years. Then with Obama I just kind of watched out of habit. I can’t bring myself to read informational political articles right now, or watch speeches by anyone.

Not sure what the point of the protests is. To curb talk of a mandate? I mean… people are good at believing what they want to based on selective information. I see a lot of that on my social media feeds. And these results shouldn’t have surprised me, but there it is. I thought he would win my state and my county just based on anecdata, but otherwise?
