Lazy Bums

I’m a Bernie supporter, and I believe he would have beaten Trump in the general election, and I hope he runs again in 2020.

Yeah, sure, let’s lose once again because it’s such a drag to have to look for new candidates whose ideas are not totally prediluvian. I’m sure Bernie won’t run unless he develops an aggressive form of dementia but I’m shocked by the people who have not been jolted out of their laziness even by the recent events. Anything goes, as long as one doesn’t have to learn a new name and process a new idea or two.

  1. How ironic that this election was supposed to result in the total destruction and splintering of the Republican Party, and suddenly it’s the Democrats who are in a shambles, with no acceptable party leaders and no idea, at this point, who might be groomed as potential candidates for 2020.

(The Dems will survive nicely, of course. I remember when the Republican Party was “doomed” after the 1964 Goldwater debacle, and the Democrats were “doomed” after the 1972 McGovern wipe-out — and four years after those disasters, the “doomed” party retook the Presidency.)

All this Sturm und Drang is so cyclic and predictable that it gets harder every election to get worked up over it.

    1. I agree that there’s no need to go into fits. But I’m glad the Dem leadership is,destroyed. They now get a chance to build something new. I’m not sure at all that they’ll take that chance but they have it.
