Welcome Your New Master

Some dumbass on Fox News:

If Russia wants to have a better relationship with the US, they have to become a real democracy

No, loser, you will have to become a real autocracy. And hey, you are not choosing the Russian president while Russians hand-picked yours. Your time to dictate what people have got to do is over. Now you take orders and lick Russian boots. Good luck with that fun endeavor.

      1. Oh I think her opening is pretty convincing. I didn’t know that the for-profits were celebrating a Trump win. I am sure that Trump will further deregulate the predatory for-profit “university” system.

        1. I also think it’s likely that Trump will work to eliminate the IBR (Income Based Repayment) play for repaying student loans. It’s the plan I’m on. It has been a life saver.

  1. A couple of months ago I wrote on my blog that I don’t want my eldest son (high school junior) to accumulate debt in college, and that what we can afford is going to affect where he goes. We can certainly afford anything in state (including the excellent flagship where I work) and a neighboring state’s flagship. I would send him elsewhere if he can get scholarships to bring the cost to us down to what we would pay in-state. Most of the comments on my blog were in favor, and strongly so, of taking on debt to go a pricey private school. I will never understand that — I suppose if you want to rule the world, you might think “Harvard or bust.” But I do not understand why I have to send a kid somewhere that costs as much as a house and saddle him with so much debt when he can actually get good education and start his life with no debt whatsoever. In the light of all safety nets and student loan program going to shit, I am even more convinced that in this society there is no such thing as good debt and no such thing as counting on anything but yourself.

    Fuckin’ Republicans.
