People are also seriously gloating over how miserable the President-elect must be feeling now since he a) loves parties and b) is very thin skinned.
After reading about Trump being “so thin skinned that I dread the first time that some foreign leader snubs him,” I began wondering whether it is simply a case of projection. Some Liberals are thin skinned and miserable, so it’s fun to imagine Trump being this way too.
As an aside, do you think Trump cares about the entertainers’ rejections? He is rich, powerful and busily preparing to begin working as a President. Surely, his new duties (and, unfortunately, his business interests too) require all his attention? Who cares about a few Hollywood stars?
Btw, I loved this bit. Trump is funny here:
\ The source also claimed that Trump did not want a bunch of “big names” at his party because they certainly did not help Hillary’s campaign to succeed.

Oh, absolutely. This is definitely a case of projection. What people seem not to understand is that Trump’s public persona is very carefully constructed and maintained for success. He’s a bona fide TV star. You can’t take the persona seriously. It’s a role.
Julia Roberts is not really a prostitute even though she played one very successfully. And Schwarzenegger isn’t really a robot, hard as that is to believe.

I hope you’re right, but I think you’re being overly optimistic.

Trump is an adult?
Petty is the password to the presidency. Now, you can argue that they’re not applying the means of petty to the right end, but “adulthood” is definitely not a winning persona, now.
And you’ve just answered the question I was going to ask, which was “Why isn’t Clarissa’s narcissism Geiger counter crackling like crazy the past 2 years?”

I’m obviously not a celebrity but even my public persona is nothing like the private me. I perform in front of tiny classrooms but still, every time you are on stage and people look at you for a performance, if you are to be even a bit successful, you’ve got to act. And the performance is always tailored to a specific audience.
Does anybody really think Trump eats his frog leg dinners at Jean Georges in a red trucker hat?

Who knows? A non-zero number of people. A lot of them earnestly insist that Obamacare will not be repealed despite the man repeating it over and over again and the attempts to get it repealed, so who can say about the overall grip on reality. Some people might think those staged photos are real.

Exactly. It’s the same people who chose Bush because they saw him as a good drinking buddy. The fellow was from an ultra rich and powerful family. He wouldn’t hire any of them to clean his toilet, let alone socialize with them. But the fantasy was so pleasing. . .
