There is a lot of sexual repression at Facebook whose employees see sex in the weirdest places

Yes, I’m linking to Cosmopolitan but I can’t resist this piece about a bunch of truly pathetic idiots.

“Trump called the generals who he met with “beautiful,” and alleged they made “Tom Cruise look like dirt.” I know what we need! A beauty contest for US generals. They prance around in speedos, and everybody votes by Twitter. And the ones who get few votes are fired by Trump on TV for not being pretty enough.

Anthony Bourdain is great.

Just in case you need any more proof that when the media quote studies they are very likely to pervert the results to suit some dumb agenda

2016 porn stats are out!

Between 1996 and 2012, a 10 percent reduction in state appropriations was associated with a 12 percent increase in international undergraduate enrollment at public research universities. ‘Cause somebody has got to pay for it. And then we will hear widespread moaning as to why everybody in good jobs is Chinese and how we need a wall on the border with China.

  1. I am proud of Israeli democracy today:

Sgt. Elor Azaria convicted of manslaughter after Hebron shooting
Judges reject defense’s claims the terrorist was already dead before Azaria shot him, determining ‘He opened fired in violation of orders, the terrorist did not pose any threat.’

    The result:

Hundreds of Azaria supporters riot outside courtroom
Some 400 protesters swarm onto Kaplan Street, blocking the road temporarily and clashing with police; at least two protesters arrested.

Protesters, some of them masked, included members of the far right-wing Lahava group, Beitar Jerusalem soccer fans, and members of the criminal, soccer fan group La Familia.

  2. To put court’s decision in Azaria’s case in context, today’s morning news also included the following:

Paratroopers’ officer critically wounded in Protective Edge passes away
Maj. Hagai Ben-Ari, a highly-regarded officer who was supposed to be appointed commander of the Paratrooper Commando Unit, suffered a brain injury from a sniper bullet in Gaza. Over two years later, he succumbed to his wounds.

With obligatory draft, the culture of “every soldier is our son” and terrorist attacks all the time, our court is still not afraid to make very unpopular decisions.

Btw, when the PM saw where the wind was blowing in Israeli society, he “Netanyahu urges ‘balance’ in trial for Hebron shooter.”

Later: “In an event speaking to soon-to-be-soldiers, the former Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon accused Netanyahu of suddenly siding with Azaria. Ya’alon voiced criticism against the politics surrounding Azaria’s case, Amona, and the Regulation Law.”

Still, nothing helped Azaria, no matter what PM said.

  3. International headlines of Azaria trial omit mention of Palestinian terrorist

Mainstream media outlets emphasize that Sgt. Elor Azaria shot dead a ‘wounded Palestinian,’ while failing to mention the latter’s stabbing attack that preceded the shooting; at most, terrorist is described as ‘a suspect.’

CNN and Sky News, for example, referred to the killing of a “wounded Palestinian suspect” while the BBC spoke merely of the “Hebron death.”
