This Was a Good MLA

We rejected the stupid boycott. I’m proud of us. Plus, I don’t have to quit the association now. Let me have a small port to celebrate.

  1. Glad to hear that. An article about it has appeared today on ynet (a major, free Hebrew news site).

In other good news, “since the conviction of Sgt. Elor Azaria for manslaughter in the killing of the incapacitated Palestinian terrorist … there has been incitement to violence against IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot and the judges who sat on the panel of the military court, amongst others.”

    The result?

Thousands rally against incitement in Tel Aviv

Several thousand demonstrators flocked to a rally initiated by Capt. (res.) Ziv Shilon (who was critically wounded in a 2012 terror attack on the Gaza border fence and lost his hand)

In addition to Shilon, the families of the three Israeli teenagers who were kidnapped and murdered in the West Bank in 2014—Eyal YIfrach, Gil-Ad Shaer and Naftali Fraenkel—were in attendance.

The rally was interrupted when Ran Karmi Buzaglo, the director of a group committed to the “struggle” for Azaria, forced his way onstage and refused to leave until he was forcibly taken away by police.

Additional pro-Azaria protestors came to yell at the demonstrators, even though the rally was ostensibly against incitement to violence and not aimed at commenting on the case.

  2. Yesterday “Thousands rally against incitement” and for respecting court decision in Azaria’s case, today ” Fadi al-Kanabir, a released prisoner from Jabel Mukaber, a neighborhood in East Jerusalem:”

\ a truck driver deliberately rammed into pedestrians waiting at a bus stop … Four people—three women and a man in their 20s—were murdered and 13 wounded; three in serious condition, one in moderate-to-serious condition, 9 lightly hurt; terrorist neutralized by soldiers.

Three of the wounded had to be extracted from under the track using a crane.

Hamas praised the attack, trying to get #TruckIntifada trending on Twitter and handing out sweets in Gaza to celebrate it.
